THE STORY OF IPU

Why Ipu?

Ipu was my grandfather — I gave him the name when I was just learning to talk. It stuck, and many other people in Nasva came to know him as Ipu too.

Ipu built this house as a home for his family and lived here for the rest of his life. He was a fisherman all his life, with the Nasva River and the sea an inseparable part of it. In 2022, I thoroughly renovated the house, and today it carries his name: Ipu Puhkemaja.

Warm up, then into the riverA separate sauna house by the river, just a few steps from the water.

A travel cot is also available for our smallest guest.

Closer to everything than you think

Ipu Puhkemaja is in the coastal village of Nasva, 7 km from Kuressaare. The Coop shop and SÄRG restaurant are about 100 metres from the house. A walking and cycling path runs through Nasva. The sandy beaches of Mändjala and Järve are a few kilometres away. Kuressaare’s restaurants, cafés and castle are a short drive away.
